The Spartanburg County Foundation supports a wide variety of projects which clearly provide innovative responses to address the goals and/or priorities set forth by the Spartanburg Community Indicators Project, with a particular emphasis in the areas of Education and Social Environment.
Each year, the Foundation sets an unrestricted grant budget to award funding to nonprofit/tax exempt organizations and institutions that provide services to the residents of Spartanburg County, South Carolina.
Since 1943, The Spartanburg County Foundation has worked to improve the quality of life for all citizens in the Spartanburg community. Realizing early that education was the basis for progress, the Foundation established a scholarship program in 1946 and began awarding annual scholarships to Spartanburg County students attending Converse and Wofford College. Today, the Foundation extends its support to local students attending Spartanburg Community College, Spartanburg Methodist College, USC Upstate and the Spartanburg Day School.
In addition to the Foundation’s scholarship program, many donors, through their powerful generosity, have established scholarship funds to support students in our community.
