The Spartanburg County Foundation Scholarship Program
The recipients of The Foundation Scholarship Program must be graduates of Spartanburg County High Schools and must attend Converse College, Spartanburg Methodist College, Spartanburg Community College, the University of South Carolina Upstate, or Wofford College.  The colleges choose the recipients for this award.   If the recipient continues their education they will receive the scholarship award every year until they graduate.  This award will not follow the recipient to another school if they transfer.

For more information about the Foundation Scholarship Program, please contact your Financial Aid representative.

How to Apply for a Scholarship from the Foundation
The Spartanburg County Foundation manages over 200 scholarship funds for students graduating from Spartanburg area high schools.  Please visit your high school guidance office for further information.

Giving Back
The Foundation has worked alongside many donors to establish a total of 226 scholarship funds, and in 2011, awarded 455 scholarships to students graduating from Spartanburg County area high schools.  By opening a Scholarship Fund, you can invest your gift in the community’s future, all with the guidance and personal services of your community foundation. You determine the criteria students must meet to receive the scholarship you establish. With your assistance, students can achieve their academic and career goals. See Gail Swofford Hacket’s story below.
