The Spartanburg County Foundation Awards $152,366 to Seven Nonprofit Organizations

The Spartanburg County Foundation recently awarded $152,366 in COVID-19 grant funding to seven nonprofit organizations working innovatively to address the immediate needs of Spartanburg County residents. This grant opportunity was dedicated to Spartanburg County nonprofits needing additional capacity to maintain operations throughout the pandemic. The Foundation’s COVID-19 grantmaking opportunity focuses on flexible grants to nonprofit and faith-based organizations providing direct services to communities that are disproportionally impacted by COVID-19.

ARCH Ministries

ARCH Ministries is the recipient of a $7,000 grant for their after-school program and cleaning supplies.

Cancer Association of Spartanburg and Cherokee Counties

Cancer Association of Spartanburg and Cherokee Counties is the recipient of $19,295 to provide nutritional supplements and fuel cards to Spartanburg County cancer patients and families, and to modify their office to comply with social distancing guidelines.

GoForth Recovery

GoForth Recovery is the recipient of a $20,000 grant to provide counseling and basic needs to Spartanburg County men recovering from addiction in their transitional housing program.

Habitat for Humanity

Habitat for Humanity is the recipient of a $40,000 grant for partial operational expenses.

HALTER

HALTER is the recipient of a $15,000 grant to maintain services to special needs children and their parents.

Healthy Smiles of Spartanburg, Inc.

Healthy Smiles of Spartanburg, Inc. is the recipient of a $25,811 grant for additional dental equipment to comply with new guidelines by the American Dental Association and South Carolina Dental Association.

Temple Education Ministries

Temple Education Ministries is the recipient of a $23,040 grant to increase food distribution through their Blessing Bags to residents in northern Spartanburg County.
