Scott Montgomery

Scott Montgomery is the owner of a Take 5 Oil franchise with stores across Georgia, North Carolina, and Tennessee.

Scott has over 25 years of operational and financial management experience as an investment banker, venture capitalist, and entrepreneur.  He began his career in Poland working with a multi-national textile printing joint venture part-owned by Spartan Mills.  After three years abroad, Scott moved into investment banking with JP Morgan Chase in New York before moving back to South Carolina.  In 2003, Scott co-founded and served as President of Southern Mulch Company, a green waste recycling, composting, and retail landscape supply business.  Twelve years later, he co-founded and served as President and CEO of Core Care Medical, a healthcare software company before assisting in the financing and development of RePower South, a company which developed and operates two 250,000 square foot recycling facilities in the southeast.

Scott has served as Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Spartanburg Regional Healthcare System Foundation and on the board of the Spartanburg Day School. Currently, he serves on Upstate Forever’s advisory board and as Treasurer and Secretary of the Board of Trustees of Apella Health Management, the management arm of the $1.5 billion Spartanburg Regional Healthcare System. Scott is a graduate of Christ School and Hampden-Sydney College.

Scott and his wife Laura have three children – Jane, Walter and Henry.
