Norman Chapman

Norman H. Chapman is Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Inman Mills, a manufacturer of high-quality textiles founded in 1901 by his great-grandfather. Mr. Chapman earned a Bachelor of Science in Economics from Clemson University. He also studied at the International Cotton Institute (Memphis, TN) and the UNC Kenan Flagler School of Finance (Chapel Hill, NC).

Upon completing his studies, Mr. Chapman served as a trainee and salesman in the family business. He subsequently transitioned into executive leadership roles and his current position as CEO which he has held since 2017.

With deep family roots in Spartanburg County, the textile industry, and business leadership, Mr. Chapman has held leadership roles in each of those areas. He currently serves as Board Chair for the National Council of Textile Organizations and on the Board of the Advanced Functional Fabrics of America, a public-private partnership led by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He also serves on the Park National Bank Carolina’s Advisory Board.

An active member of the local community and graduate of Leadership Spartanburg, Mr. Chapman has participated on an extensive array of local boards working to build business opportunities and services to improve the lives of Spartanburg County residents.

Mr. Chapman and his wife, Martha (Muffet), have two daughters, Martha Mears Chapman and Catherine Hinman Chapman.
