The Spartanburg County Foundation seeks a dynamic and engaging full-time Director of First Impressions and Logistics with a passion for nonprofit excellence. This is an exciting opportunity to join The Spartanburg County Foundation as part of its team to provide administrative and logistics support in the new Robert Hett Chapman III Center for Philanthropy. This position interacts professionally with staff, donors and potential donors, general public and all SCF campus constituents. This position is responsible for greeting Center for Philanthropy guests in a polite, cheerful, and helpful manner to ensure the highest quality customer service. Critically, this position coordinates internal and external access to the Center’s various meeting and convening spaces. This position also manages the technology suite and interactive displays housed within the Center’s Gallery of Philanthropy.

Requirements: Four year college or university degree with major course work in an appropriate discipline; Excellent computer skills, including experience with WordPress (or other website platform), Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel), Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign); extensive experience with audiovisual equipment and strong communication skills, both written and verbal and the ability to express ideas clearly.

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Spartanburg County Foundation seeks a full-time Director of Partnerships and Civic Engagement with a passion for nonprofit excellence. This is an exciting opportunity to join The Spartanburg County Foundation and the new Robert Hett Chapman III Center for Philanthropy. The Director of Partnerships and Civic Engagement is responsible for overseeing the Foundation’s community leadership activities and grant making strategy to ensure that the Foundation’s annual program of work is effectively carried out and in alignment with the Foundation’s vision, mission, values, and theory of change. This position develops strategies for the Foundation’s community leadership activities, serves as a knowledge source on critical indicators, and establishes and maintains relationships with community stakeholders across the public, private, and nonprofit sectors. This position also seeks opportunities to leverage Foundation resources through partnerships and funding to achieve greater philanthropic impact.

Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree in a related field; five years of experience in philanthropy required; successful track record in executing on strategy, setting priorities, managing multiple projects, working effectively under pressure; excellent verbal and written communication; and interpersonal skills. This position interacts professionally with donors and potential donors, the general public, trustees, staff, and all Foundation constituents. This position is responsible for greeting Foundation guests in a polite, cheerful, and helpful manner to ensure the highest quality customer service. This position also performs a wide variety of confidential and general administrative responsibilities, including calendar scheduling, meeting preparation, and human resources support.

Responsibilities require advanced levels of MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Word), internet research skills and project management skills for the development of complex reports and presentations. Bachelor’s Degree in a related field is required. Candidates must be a resident of Spartanburg County and pass background and credit checks.

INTERNSHIP OPPORTUNITIES

The Spartanburg County Foundation seeks highly motivated and qualified students to gain real-world work experience and to learn the inner-workings of a nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the lives of Spartanburg County residents. The goal of the internship program is to provide training and experience related to a student’s academic course of study and career goals.

The Foundation offers internships in the areas of finance and accounting, communications, special initiatives, and administrative support. Currently, the Foundation is seeking interns in all areas for Fall 2020. The Foundation internship program for Summer 2020 is currently on hold as the office is temporarily closed.

The accounting intern is responsible for providing support to the director of finance. This individual will work directly with the director of finance to assist in providing auditing support, monthly and annual reconciliations, financial statements, investment performance reports, and special projects while providing documentation to fund holders in a timely manner. In addition, this individual will obtain a well-rounded experience in all facets of fund accounting in a nonprofit environment. Click Here for a full description.

The communications intern is responsible for providing support for internal and external communications efforts. The communications intern works under the overall direction of the communications officer but may collaborate with other members of the Foundation to develop communication tools and disseminate information about programs and activities. The special initiatives intern is responsible for providing support for grantmaking, initiatives, and community leadership work. The special initiatives intern works under the direction of the director of grants and initiatives but may collaborate with other members of the Foundation on various tasks and projects as time allows. The administrative support intern is responsible for providing administrative support to the Foundation. The administrative support intern works under the direction of the designated administrative staff but may collaborate with all staff to handle the reception area, research, archiving files, filing, and general administrative support.

The Women Giving for Spartanburg (WGFS) intern is responsible for providing support to the WGFS’s program liaison in the areas of marketing and events, grantmaking, and the overall administrative work of WGFS. There will also be opportunities for the intern to assist the Foundation with various tasks and projects as time allows. The Spartanburg Interfaith Alliance intern is responsible for providing administrative support to the Spartanburg Interfaith Alliance, a network of clergy, lay leaders, and faith communities that have joined together for the purpose of contributing to the common good.
