Ashley T. Whitt serves as program specialist for The Spartanburg County Foundation. She manages the logistical implementation of the Foundation’s grantmaking programs and provides administrative support to the Foundation’s community leadership initiatives. Ms. Whitt also oversees all component fund grant distributions and scholarship funds.
Ms. Whitt began her tenure at The Spartanburg County Foundation in 2009 as an intern, first with Women Giving for Spartanburg and then with the Finance Department. In 2011, Ms. Whitt formally joined the Foundation as program associate. She has served as the Foundation’s grants manager and transitioned into her current role in 2018.
Ms. Whitt is a graduate of Converse College where she received both a Bachelor of Science in business administration and a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish. During her years at Converse, Ms. Whitt studied Spanish in Mexico and economics in France and Spain. Ms. Whitt also hold a certificate of nonprofit program management from the Georgia Center for Nonprofits.
In 2012, Ms. Whitt graduated from the Foundation’s Grassroots Leadership Development Institute and is a member of the Grassroots Leadership Alumni Association. She is also involved with the Council on Foundation, Southeastern Council on Foundation, and the South Carolina Grantmakers Network. She is a past member of the Junior League of Spartanburg.
A native of Spartanburg, Ms. Whitt resides in Glenn Springs with her husband Roger and two young daughters, Clara and Jessie. She enjoys spending time with her family and staying involved in her church choir and children’s programs.
