BY THE NUMBERS

The Foundation’s capacity to serve the Spartanburg community is directly tied to its ability to preserve and enhance financial assets. To this end, the Board of Trustees has developed investment policies and guidelines that ensure prudent asset management Over the past 10 years, the Foundation’s Investment Portfolio has averaged a 3.9% annual return on investment.

Since 2007, The Spartanburg County Foundation has met the nation’s highest standards for operational quality, integrity, and accountability as a National Standards Foundation. The National Standards compliance effort for U.S. community foundations is administered by the Council on Foundations, a Washington, D.C.-based nonprofit membership association of more than 2,000 grant-making foundations and corporations worldwide. Meeting these rigorous standards assures the Spartanburg public of the Foundation’s ability to achieve its mission to strengthen the community and help donors achieve their personal charitable goals.
