This fund has provided grants to nonprofit organizations for more than 80 years, responding to community needs as they have changed over time.
In 2024, grants awarded from the fund strengthened local nonprofit organizations and their programs that provide education and out-of-school time youth development programs, safe housing, food security for individuals, families, and college students, medical and mental health care, build economic security and mobility for individuals and families, reduce homelessness, preserve and protect natural spaces for healthy recreation, and so much more.
ABOUT THE ARTIST
Jason Craft is an artist who has lived and worked in the Upstate for nearly 20 years. He moved to the area in 2008 after graduating from the Savannah College of Art and Design, initially pursuing a career in advertising. In 2022, Jason founded JasonDraws, a small business focused on illustration. Through this venture, he creates a wide range of work, from murals and storyboards to character design and children’s books, serving both national and international clients, such as Denny’s, Verizon, Bojangles, Chick-fil-A, Lowe’s, 20th Century Fox, Lenovo, Pilot Flying J, John Deere, and many more. Jason has also worked with the City of Spartanburg to create murals that celebrate and amplify the unique character of local neighborhoods in our community. His passion lies in bringing ideas to life through illustration, and he encourages others to take their ideas from their minds and put them onto paper, where they can evolve into something special.
