Board Secretary/Treasurer – 5th Year Trustee
Scott Montgomery is a Take 5 Oil Change franchisee with stores across Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Tennessee.
Scott has over 25 years of operational and financial management experience as an investment banker, venture capitalist, and entrepreneur. Prior to Take 5, Scott worked in Poland at a textile printing venture before moving to New York City to work in investment banking at JP Morgan Chase. After moving to South Carolina in 2001 he founded a landscape supply company, Southern Mulch, and a software company, CoreCare Medical. Scott has spent time in the recycling business, RePower South, where he helped to raise financing, develop the project, and operate two 250,000-square-foot facilities in the Southeast.
Scott has served as Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Spartanburg Regional Healthcare System Foundation and has served on the board of the Spartanburg Day School. Currently, he serves on Upstate Forever’s advisory board and on the Board of Trustees of Apella Health Management, the management arm of the $3 billion Spartanburg Regional Healthcare System. Scott is a member of the SC House of Representatives. He is an Assistant Scout Master for Troop 1 Boy Scouts. Scott is a graduate of Christ School and Hampden-Sydney College.
Scott and his wife Laura have three children – Jane, Walter, and Henry – and are members of the Episcopal Church of the Advent.
